The ‘Betal’ is back on the public demand and he has a story.

Betal: Just now a story is taking place of another one. Life is short they say. Everything gets replaced. Like some new tenants are moving into the old apartment. For them, it's new and for those who left, it's a story of past. This story is as alive as those people occupying that apartment are and with the passing time, it will also become just another story of past. Unlike some religious ones which are immortal. Myths they say.
Every day this common story wakes up with the alarms from the mobile phone (another sleeping partner) or beeps of mails and messages. Now that they are committed to what seemed to be just an affair with some tasks, they have to follow the orders (read OBEY). No matter how insignificant it might seem through the God's eye view (if you believe HE exists), something is waiting to be done! Almost eternally.
Most of the time, it seems to be the tasks running the story rather than the story creating some. That's where they invented the term, "Life F****!" Practically giving birth to a delusion of what is real and what is not.
So the question is "Are you real or your story is? Is it the task that is more important or you? And by the way, Who are you?"
The great king Vikramaditya: I don’t know! May be my name, or gender, or profession, religion or status or .. I don’t know. Be specific about what you want to know."
Betal: hahaha.. "Why would I want to know anything? (Dead people don't need news) I am just asking a question and you should answer like we have decided. You only know about yourself in comparison with others. You are a king because others are not and they call you that. You are a man because you are not a woman. Your body and your personality is yours not you. So who are you?" :)
The great king Vikramaditya: Wait a minute. Are we still talking about a story in the happening? Or it was a metaphor for people. Are we happening? Are we stories? Or we create them? Are we slaves to tasks or the master? Who are we?
Betal: "That’s the question. I was asked once and it changed my life forever. Like a philosopher’s stone. They say, it can turn base metals into Gold.

So my dear Rajan, Who are you??"

Let this question haunt you. For if you find out, you might too turn into Gold (or may be, a ghost)!

April fool’s day has ended and as usual the ‘Betal’ (Some ghostly character in Indian mythology) of our duties has clung on to our backs reminding us to be The wise King ‘Vikramaditya’ (Literally the son of valor). They too have this seemingly eternal affair (Like we have with our work) in which The Betal tells a story to King Vikramaditya and he has to listen to it carefully only to answer a moral question in the end. If he answers correctly then this routine will continue and if he doesn't answer correctly in spite of knowing it then he will be killed. Great deal! Who buys this s*** these days? But its mythology hence anything can happen. Also Vikramaditya was so wise that he knew all the correct answers. Kudos! He should have gone to ‘KBC’ (Kaun Banega Crorepati) ;)

Anyways, we would definitely won the KBC had the questions based on morality. After all we all have not just mastered the art of judging people but have a Doctorate in the subject of morality. Don’t agree with me? Please comment your views below. :)

Our affair with these duties (we call life) is not eternal (even if it seem like). But let’s see what the story is for today. Since you have come so far reading it, I take the honor of being that ghost ‘Betal’ (read ‘out of sync’) to narrate you a story with a question in the end and you answer wisely. Deal? To read it or not, choice is yours.

In the Mortal land, lived the most intelligent people of their time. They thought they were modern and learned than the previous generations. They revolted against the injustice and questioned the age old practices that made no sense in the contemporary world and build structures to make life easy and entertaining. But there was a mad man among them. Who never went to study in university or worked for money and had no interest in getting married and having children. Worst of all, he had no interest in politics or cricket! Believe me there can be someone like that. He made no allegations on the policies of government or cursed the team for losing the world cup. What an a**! I mean apathetic person! One would have definitely ignored him had he not been such a nuisance to the common man. Yes he was a nuisance in spite of being harmless. He asked questions! Stupid questions actually. Like ‘Why are we here?’ and ‘What if we die without living?’ and so on. Crap! We all know why we all are here. To get jobs and have a better live so that we can give a better future to our children. Meanwhile we are aware citizens who are well informed and act like one. And this guy even asked why we need information and proclaimed to be in search of knowledge. This mad man was looking for Truth. What can you know about the truth in this mortal land without knowing the scandals going around you? But this mad man thought we were immortals and can’t see ourselves until we knew the truth. He must be blind! For everyone but him could see themselves as Male, Female, Upper cast, Lower cast, Black, white and what not. So he thought he should close his eyes since anyway he was so blind and what a miracle! He remained like that for days and months. God knows for how long and when he finally opened his eyes, he saw a queue of people worshiping him!

End of the story.
What questions? There are no questions.

If you can find the right questions, ask them to yourselves.

Also tell me if you like this 'Neo Betal' so that it can keep coming to cling on to your back.

Thank you for reading.
